In Martini, every storyboard lives inside a creative.

A Creative is a container for your boards—think of it as a sequence, commercial, or campaign within your project. Each creative is made up of frames, and each frame can hold multiple boards, descriptions, tags, files, and comments.

Grid

The Grid is the main workspace for your creative. It’s where you add, remove, reorder, and manage frames.

Think of a frame as a single item in the grid. Each frame can contain:

  • One or more boards (images or video)

  • A description

  • Tags

  • Files

  • Comments

Frames vs Boards (quick clarification)

  • A frame is the container you see in the grid.

  • A board is a media item inside a frame.

A single frame can hold multiple boards.
For example, one commercial storyboard frame might include:

  • A hand-drawn storyboard

  • A location photo board

  • A reference image

Managing Frames

You can add frames in two ways:

  • Drag and drop media directly into the grid (supports multiple files)

  • Click + Board in the grid, then upload media afterward

Frames can be reordered by dragging them using the move handle.

Auto numbering & linking frames

  • Frames are automatically numbered.

  • You can create A/B/C frames using the chain icon.

Example:

If you want frame 12 and 13 to become 12A and 12B, click the chain icon on frame 13 to link it to frame 12.

Click the chain icon again to unlink them.

Caption-only frames

You can also create a frame with no media, using only a caption—perfect for cards like “END PAGE” or section breaks.

Sidebar

The Sidebar shows all details for the currently selected frame.

  • On smaller screens, the sidebar may be hidden

  • Toggle it anytime using the ] key

When a frame is selected in the grid, the sidebar displays:

  • Boards

  • Tags

  • Files

  • Comments

  • Frame-specific settings

Frame descriptions are edited directly in the grid view.

For media that you don't want to display as boards, upload them to Files – see Files as the frames media bin.

Boards

To add a new board:

  1. Click + Add

  2. Name your board (you can rename it anytime)

  3. Upload an image or video

After uploading, you can:

  • Crop and reposition the media

  • Reorder boards using the drag handle

  • Pin boards

Board order matters—this is the order boards appear in Live View.

Pinned board

The top (pinned) board is what shows in the grid view.
You can pin a different board at any time, and it will instantly update across all Live View devices.

Tags

Tags help keep your creative organized and make filtering easy in other views.

Use tags to:

  • Filter boards when building schedules

  • Quickly find boards on set (by location, talent, etc.)

Tags live inside tag groups, and tag groups can be color-coded for visual separation.

Files

The Files section is the frame’s file bin.

Use it for assets related to the frame that aren’t boards, such as:

  • Props

  • Wardrobe approvals

  • Reference PDFs

  • Supporting documents

Comments

Comments are attached to individual frames.

  • Each comment can include threaded replies

  • Comments can be marked Done using the green checkmark—great for tracking resolved notes

You can also view all comments across the creative from the creative-level comments view.

You can publish:
