Getting Started: Projects

Projects are the top-level container for an entire shoot or production.

A Project usually represents one shoot—whether that’s a commercial, short film, social campaign, or music video. It holds everything related to that production, including creatives, frames, boards, schedules, and collaborators.

Think of a project as the umbrella for a shoot day or production.
Under that umbrella, you can create as many creatives as you need, such as:

  • A :30 commercial

  • A :15 cutdown

  • A social teaser

  • A stills shoot

All of these can live within the same project, keeping everything organized in one place.

Before You Create a Project

Before creating a new project, you’ll need to select the Workspace where it should live. Projects always belong to a workspace.

You can read more about Workspaces here:

How to Create a Project

You can create a new project in two ways:

  1. From the Project Selector
    Visit:
    trymartini.com/account/select-project

  2. From inside an existing project
Open the project dropdown in the top-left corner and click + New Project at the bottom of the list.

Steps

  1. Click + New Project
You’ll find this in the top-left project dropdown once you’re logged into Martini.

  2. Give your project a name
    Choose something descriptive, like:
“Spring 2025 Launch Shoot” or “Burger King Social Campaign”

  3. Start adding creatives
After creating the project, you’ll land on the dashboard where you can:

    • Add creatives

    • Build boards

    • Invite team members

    • Create shotlists and schedules to plan your shoot

Example

Let’s say you’re producing a brand campaign. Your project might be called:

“Nike Back to School – Summer Shoot”

Inside that project, you could have multiple creatives:

  • :30 Hero Spot

  • Instagram Cutdown

  • Behind-the-Scenes Featurette

Each creative has its own boards and shots, but they all live under the same project for easy organization.

Tips

  • You can archive or delete projects anytime from Project Settings

  • Projects support unlimited frames and storyboards (depending on your plan)

  • You can return to your project list at any time using the project dropdown in the top-left
